ABOUT THE ARTIST
EXPRESSIONIST CONTEMPORARY ARTIST
I am Selda Bergman, an expressionist painter who uses bold colors, movement and emotion as the foundation of my visual language.
Painting has always been a natural way for me to express my inner world. My works carry a spiritual, expressive and abstract quality, shaped by the emotions and energy that guide my creative process. The vibration of color, the flow of movement and the depth created by texture play an essential role in my work.
As an expressionist, I work with color, form and texture in an intuitive way. I allow each piece to develop in its own flow, following the transitions, contrasts and movement that emerge. This approach creates space for the painting to find its own rhythm, energy and atmosphere. The relationships, layers and transformations that appear throughout the process form the core of my practice.
Art, for me, is a process a space where emotions, energy and inner experiences find their own path on the canvas. Each piece carries a different moment of this journey and becomes a natural part of the whole through its quiet presence.
MY STYLE
Throughout my career, I have worked on developing a personal visual language shaped by bold and vibrant colors, a wide palette, strong brushstrokes and a clear sense of movement.
My works are described as spiritual, expressive and abstract, carrying an inner narrative rooted in my own emotional world.
One of the key elements of my style is the use of intense colors that bring energy and vitality into my work. I explore a broad range of tones, shades and hues, allowing them to come together through an intuitive flow. This approach enables each piece to find its own rhythm, energy and inner atmosphere.
ARTISTIC APPORACH
Bold brushstrokes are more than a technique for me; they are the outward trace of movement, flow, and inner energy. Lines and forms often find their own rhythm, moving freely across the canvas. This creates a living sense of motion an energy that matters to me far more than any attempt to direct the viewer’s attention.
Beyond color and movement, my work is shaped by intuition. I often paint by feeling rather than thought, letting instinct guide the process. This gives each piece a quiet depth and mystery, as if it opens a small doorway into my inner world.
Exploring new ways of expression is an ongoing part of my practice. I experiment, undo, rebuild allowing my creativity to shift and expand naturally. Pushing the boundaries of my own process is simply how the energy within me continues to move.

GETTING LOST IN THE COLORS

There is a vast difference between simply looking at a painting and breathing within it. This is why I choose to create on a grand scale. Rather than confining details to a small frame, I prefer dimensions that allow me to lose myself in the colors and feel that vibrancy in every cell of my being.
The primary reason I work with large scale visuals is my desire for a piece to be more than just an accessory on a wall; I want it to become an ‘energy portal’ that opens up within a space. The way the intense, striking world of color spills beyond the boundaries of the canvas truly thrills me.
Losing myself in the texture of the brushstrokes and the depth created by the interplay of colors is what drives me. Seeing a work transform from a mere decorative object into a manifestation of passion born from the infinite power of color and pure enthusiasm is my greatest motivation.
ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENTS
My abstract painting practice is an organic expression that transcends the boundaries of the mind, shaped entirely by its own inner energy. Every movement and every brushstroke I capture on canvas is a raw, unfiltered reflection of my emotions. This creative process forms a living space that exists independently of the outside world, possessing its own unique rhythm and spirit.
I believe that art is a meeting point for souls vibrating at the same frequency. Because of this, the motion and deep emotion within my work are able to form a genuine connection with those who resonate with a similar inner rhythm. Over time, this ‘inner flow’ has carved its own path, finding a place in respected galleries and exhibitions. Each exhibition is more than just a presentation of artwork; it is a shared story of existence, where I invite the viewer to experience the never-ending movement of my spirit. For me, art is not merely a destination, but a continuous journey of discovery.
THE CANVAS
In my work, color, movement and intuition come together as essential elements of expression. I paint intuitively, allowing each piece to develop in its own rhythm. The transitions between colors, the contrasts that emerge and the flow of movement shape the atmosphere of the work.
I see the canvas as a space where instinct and material meet. Rather than directing the outcome, I follow the natural progression of the process, giving room for layers, textures and relationships to form on their own. This approach allows each painting to find its own energy.
